Let’s have the best turnout yet to celebrate 15 years of hard work, PRs, and community!

NEWS & REMINDERS

Saturday Schedule

Our Saturday Schedule seems to be working out great according to our attendance, so we’ll be keeping the current schedule with classes at 7am & 8:30am for the foreseeable future. If the need arises to go back to a regular Saturday schedule, then we will announce it on Zenplanner. Let’s get at it, weekend warriors!!

Sign Up In Advance for Classes

Don’t forget to please sign up for classes early. Early sign-ups help tremendously in allowing our coaches to plan accordingly and make your experience amazing, each and every time.

For our typically smaller classes, please remember that classes can be canceled due to a lack of sign ups. Also remember that our early morning classes will cancel if people are not signed up the evening before.

Clean Habits Build Strong Values

Friendly reminder for everyone to do their part to keep the gym tidy and clean. There are several wipe containers throughout the gym, so please be sure to wipe down equipment and put it back in its place when done. Parents, thank you for doing your part in leaving the club room tidy and clean for the next set of kids. Thank you to all for your efforts in building strong values through clean habits!

Run Club

Join the Run Club every Tuesday at 6pm at Sailfish. You don’t need to be an expert runner! Everyone goes at their own pace down a similar route from Avenue A to the bridge and back. It is a choose your own adventure run/walk, if you’d like to run all three miles, awesome! If you are just starting and want to walk a mile, great! When you're finished, Run Club meets back at Sailfish to grab a beverage for a discount. There is also a punch system depending on how many visits you can get things like free beer, t-shirts, and more.

WE ARE CROSSFIT FORT PIERCE

PCCF Throwdown

Oct 4 | Palm City

This fantastic local competition at Halpatiokee Park is coming up quickly. Your participation directly supports the Martin County Police Athletic League, making a difference in the lives of young athletes. Let’s have our best CFFP representation yet this year!

InBody | BODY COMPOSITION SCALE

Did you know that we have our very own InBody Body Composition Scale at the gym, free to use for all members. That’s right! It’s a really cool machine that quickly measure fat mass, muscle mass, and body water. It’s super user-friendly and non-invasive. You simply follow the step-by-step directions on it, and before you know it, you’re getting a detailed analysis print-out. Don’t want the paperwork? Then download the app and the results are automatically sent to and saved there, keeping a detailed history of your progress and achievements. It even has features to help you achieve your goals, like their macro calculations that can guide you on what and/or how much to eat depending on your fitness goal. Give it a try!! You can find it at the back of the gym next to the water cooler. Here’s a link to the company’s website where you can learn more about all of the features that are readily accessible to you, our CFFP member!

SUPPORT OUR OWN

We are excited to continue highlighting our amazing local businesses owned by our very own members! By supporting these businesses, you’re not only helping fellow gym members thrive, but also strengthening our entire community. We encourage you to visit their websites by clicking on the respective logo below.

*If you own or are a part of a local business and would like to be included, please email info@crossfitfortpierce.com and be sure to include the logo. Thank you!

LIFE CLASS MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Debbie Becton

At 74 years old, Debbie Becton is a retired teacher who was born in Michigan and moved to Florida in 1965, eventually settling in Fort Pierce in 1985. Introduced to CrossFit by Clay and Mary Becton, she decided to give it a try and quickly became hooked. Debbie’s favorite movement is rowing, though she’s currently working on improving her burpees and squats. Since joining CrossFit, she feels stronger, more flexible, and more confident in her daily activities. Beyond fitness, the LIFE group has become a source of wonderful friendships and social memories outside the gym. One of Debbie’s proudest moments was being able to complete a floor burpee again. She loves the supportive coaching staff, who constantly encourage her to challenge herself, and she values the incredible friendships she’s formed within the community. Debbie’s motivation comes from how great she feels after each class and the sense of accomplishment it brings—so much so that she schedules her life around her LIFE classes. If she could design her own WOD, it would include rowing, wall balls, sit-ups, kettlebell swings, and deadlifts. After a workout, her go-to treat is a delicious omelet. Outside the gym, Debbie has been exploring watercolor painting and recently discovered Zentangle Art, a relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images through drawing.

Athlete of the Month

Nick Cahall

This month’s Athlete of the Month is Nick, 44, a Cloud Security Engineer originally from Delaware. He was introduced to CrossFit through his brother and father, who are both active in the sport. After taking a 15-year break from nearly all fitness activities, Nick started lifting again in January 2025 and soon found his way into CrossFit. His favorite movements are the deadlift and box jumps, though he’s currently focused on improving his squat cleans and overhead lifts. CrossFit has completely transformed Nick’s life outside the gym—shaping his routines, nutrition, sleep, and overall performance. He feels more alive, finds his workdays easier, enjoys more productive off days, and has rediscovered the fun in everyday life. One of his proudest moments so far has been hitting a new deadlift PR of 255 pounds and tackling wall walks for the first time.

What Nick loves most about the gym community is the supportive atmosphere created by both coaches and members, who are always encouraging growth for the group as well as the individual. He also enjoys the variety of workouts—no two classes are ever the same. While his family is supportive, Nick’s motivation comes from within. He chooses to show up for himself every day, prioritizing his health and fitness so he can tackle anything life throws at him and set an example for his kids and family. If he could design his own WOD, it would include box jumps or get overs, wall walks, front squats, and deadlifts. After a tough session, Nick’s favorite post-workout treat is a Mango Sunrise smoothie enjoyed by the pool.

A fun fact about Nick is that his brother is a CrossFit Level 1 Instructor in Delaware, and his father trains at Palm City CrossFit. Together, they share the goal of competing as a whole family in the near future.

*Each month we spotlight a CFFP athlete who stands out. We are always looking for that athlete that shows up, gives their best, and then gives more. These athletes are ready to learn, ready to work, support their fellow classmates, and encourage others to reach their goals. If you have someone in mind, please email your suggestions to info@ crossfitfortpierce.com or you can DM our instagram page. Please make sure to share why you think this athlete is deserving.

FITNESS CHALLENGE

SEPTEMBER | PULL-UPS (ACCUMULATION)

Last month, we were pushing, this month we are pulling. Let’s continue to challenge our consistency and see how many pull-ups we can accumulate in one month. If you need a modification that will fit your current level but still challenge you, please see a coach. You’ll have plenty of options including strict pull-ups, kipping pull-ups, banded pull-ups, ring rows, etc.

Here are some good video links to help you master your technique no matter what level you’re at.
