Happy 15th Anniversary CrossFit Fort Pierce!

15 Years of Strength, Community, and Growth

What began as a small group of passionate individuals has grown into a thriving community of members who inspire, motivate, and push each other to be their best every single day. Over the past decade and a half, we’ve seen countless goals achieved, personal records shattered, and friendships formed that go far beyond the gym walls.

Our journey hasn’t just been about workouts; it’s been about building a space where everyone feels welcome, challenged, and supported. From early mornings to late evenings, from the first pull-up to your latest PR, the spirit of perseverance and encouragement has always been at the heart of our community.

As we look back on these 15 incredible years, we also look forward to the future — continuing to grow stronger, explore new challenges, and deepen the connections that make our community so special. Thank you to every member, coach, and friend who has been part of this journey.

Here’s to 15 years of strength, health, and friendship — and many more to come!

NEWS & REMINDERS

Saturday 10/4 Schedule

Our Saturday 10/4, there will be a 7am class ONLY. Let’s get our wod in, and then head down to the PCCF Throwndown to cheer on the 28 CFFP athletes throwing down! LET’S GO!

Sign Up In Advance for Classes

Don’t forget to please sign up for classes early. Early sign-ups help tremendously in allowing our coaches to plan accordingly and make your experience amazing, each and every time.

For our typically smaller classes, please remember that classes can be canceled due to a lack of sign ups. Also remember that our early morning classes will cancel if people are not signed up the evening before.

Clean Habits Build Strong Values

Friendly reminder for everyone to do their part to keep the gym tidy and clean. There are several wipe containers throughout the gym, so please be sure to wipe down equipment and put it back in its place when done. Parents, thank you for doing your part in leaving the club room tidy and clean for the next set of kids. Thank you to all for your efforts in building strong values through clean habits!

Run Club

Join the Run Club every Tuesday at 6pm at Sailfish. You don’t need to be an expert runner! Everyone goes at their own pace down a similar route from Avenue A to the bridge and back. It is a choose your own adventure run/walk, if you’d like to run all three miles, awesome! If you are just starting and want to walk a mile, great! When you're finished, Run Club meets back at Sailfish to grab a beverage for a discount. There is also a punch system depending on how many visits you can get things like free beer, t-shirts, and more.

WE ARE CROSSFIT FORT PIERCE

InBody | BODY COMPOSITION SCALE

Did you know that we have our very own InBody Body Composition Scale at the gym, free to use for all members. That’s right! It’s a really cool machine that quickly measure fat mass, muscle mass, and body water. It’s super user-friendly and non-invasive. You simply follow the step-by-step directions on it, and before you know it, you’re getting a detailed analysis print-out. Don’t want the paperwork? Then download the app and the results are automatically sent to and saved there, keeping a detailed history of your progress and achievements. It even has features to help you achieve your goals, like their macro calculations that can guide you on what and/or how much to eat depending on your fitness goal. Give it a try!! You can find it at the back of the gym next to the water cooler. Here’s a link to the company’s website where you can learn more about all of the features that are readily accessible to you, our CFFP member!

SUPPORT OUR OWN

We are excited to continue highlighting our amazing local businesses owned by our very own members! By supporting these businesses, you’re not only helping fellow gym members thrive, but also strengthening our entire community. We encourage you to visit their websites by clicking on the respective logo below.

*If you own or are a part of a local business and would like to be included, please email info@crossfitfortpierce.com and be sure to include the logo. Thank you!

LIFE CLASS MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Nell Cagnoni

Nell Cagnoni is a 69-year-old retired nurse who has dedicated much of her career to caring for others. She worked as a pediatric nurse in Norfolk, VA, served as a newborn nursery and parish nurse in Eagle Pass, TX, and later shared her expertise at a diabetic wellness center in Naperville, IL. Originally from Moyock, NC — a small town nestled between Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks — Nell and her husband made the move to Florida in 2017 to enjoy retirement.

When it comes to CrossFit, Nell is all about the deadlift, though she also enjoys jump rope, kettlebell swings, and rowing. She’s focused on improving her core strength and balance and rewards herself after workouts with her favorite treat: two shrimp tacos from Taco Dive. For Nell, CrossFit is more than just exercise; it keeps her strong and fit for gardening, a passion that involves lifting bags of soil, moving mulch, and handling heavy pots.

She’s grateful for the creativity and support of the coaching staff, who keep workouts fun and engaging while helping members improve their form and technique. What stands out most for Nell is the camaraderie of the LIFE class, where encouragement, friendship, and community are always at the heart of every session.

Athlete of the Month

Karina Tamburi

Meet Karina Tamburi, a 31-year-old staffing coordinator for a hospital who originally hails from Miami, FL. Karina first discovered CrossFit when she was looking for a way to stay active while still being challenged — and CrossFit has been the perfect fit. Her favorite movements are power cleans and hang cleans, though she’s currently working hard to improve her snatches.

Since starting CrossFit, Karina has noticed a big impact on her life outside the gym. She feels stronger, more confident, and is proud to have recently signed up for her very first competition — a huge milestone in her journey. What she loves most about the gym is the welcoming, friendly community that made her feel right at home from day one.

Her biggest motivation comes from her two young boys, ages one and three, who inspire her to keep showing up and putting in the work. If she could design her own WOD, it would definitely include hang cleans, squats, and the rower. After a tough session, her go-to post-workout meal is usually eggs, sausage, and cheese — or breakfast tacos!

And here’s a fun fact about Karina that not everyone knows: she did competitive cheerleading for over 10 years and even won national titles.

*Each month we spotlight a CFFP athlete who stands out. We are always looking for that athlete that shows up, gives their best, and then gives more. These athletes are ready to learn, ready to work, support their fellow classmates, and encourage others to reach their goals. If you have someone in mind, please email your suggestions to info@ crossfitfortpierce.com or you can DM our instagram page. Please make sure to share why you think this athlete is deserving.

FITNESS CHALLENGE

SEPTEMBER | BOX STEP-UPS (ACCUMULATION)

Last month, we pulled up with our upper body, this month we are step up with our lower body. Let’s continue to challenge our consistency and see how many box step-ups (24/20) we can accumulate in one month. If you need a modification that will fit your current level but still challenge you, please see a coach. We are suggesting 24in box for the fellas and 20in box for the ladies, but ultimately it is up to you. Want to add some DBs? Go for it! Use this month’s challenge to get those glutes stronger.

*This will be a great lead-up to next month’s Veteran’s Day Hero WOD, Chad.

Here are some good video links to help you master your technique no matter what level you’re at.
