NEWS & REMINDERS
BELIEVE & ACHIEVE 5K
Thank you to all of the members that attended and participated in the 2026 Believe & Achieve 5K Race. We showed up BIG and took home the title of Top Team (once again) — and honestly, that’s no surprise with this crew. The energy, the support, and the turnout were next level.
It wasn’t just about the run… it was about coming together, pushing each other, and having an absolute blast doing it. Seeing so many of you out there representing, cheering, and grinding makes us proud in a way that’s hard to put into words. This is what makes our community special. 💪
Believe & Achieve is a local organization whose mission is to open doors to resources for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other varying developmental disabilities. They assist families in accessing the therapeutic and educational support needed for their child to progress and thrive. B&A aims to alleviate barriers that may hinder a family from having access to necessary support and ultimately create a more inclusive community.
Space Coast Marathon
Space Coast Marathon is celebrating its 55th year in 2026, making it the oldest marathon in the state of Florida. We invite runners and walkers alike to experience one of the most beautiful USATF certified waterfront courses on the east coast of Florida.
We already have several members signed up and are looking to make our presence felt at this year’s big event. Let’s go!!!
CROSSFIT KIDS
So many of us wish we had had the chance to start our CrossFit journey much earlier in life, but just didn’t have it as an option. With summer almost here, our wheels have been turning about providing that opportunity to the kids in our community (and beyond).
CrossFit Kids will be coming to our gym starting in June! Let’s spread the word and build some excitement for an amazing opportunity to get kids excited about exercise and good health! Stay tuned for more details!
Sign Up In Advance for Classes
Early sign-ups help tremendously in allowing our coaches to plan accordingly and make your experience amazing, each and every time.
Classes can be canceled due to a lack of sign ups, including early morning classes if people are not signed up the evening before.
‘Cleanliness is Godliness’
Let’s keep the gym tidy and clean. Please be sure to wipe down equipment with wipes provided and return equipment to its place when done.
Parents, thank you for doing your part in leaving the club room tidy and clean for the next set of kids.
Join the Run Club every Saturday morning at 6am through November. You don’t need to be an expert runner! DM your cell number to our Instagram page or email us at info@crossfitfortpierce.com to be added to the group chat.
CONGRATULATIONS….
to our very own coach Claudia Filla for qualifying for and competing in this year’s Boston Marathon on April 19th. Wow!! Words cannot begin to describe the pride it brings our gym to have such amazing athletes like Claudia accomplishing such fantastic feats. Simply amazing!

WE ARE CROSSFIT FORT PIERCE
InBody | BODY COMPOSITION SCALE
Did you know that we have our very own InBody Body Composition Scale at the gym, free to use for all members. That’s right! It’s a really cool machine that quickly measure fat mass, muscle mass, and body water. It’s super user-friendly and non-invasive. You simply follow the step-by-step directions on it, and before you know it, you’re getting a detailed analysis print-out. Don’t want the paperwork? Then download the app and the results are automatically sent to and saved there, keeping a detailed history of your progress and achievements. It even has features to help you achieve your goals, like their macro calculations that can guide you on what and/or how much to eat depending on your fitness goal. Give it a try!! You can find it at the back of the gym next to the water cooler. Here’s a link to the company’s website where you can learn more about all of the features that are readily accessible to you, our CFFP member!
LIFE CLASS MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Genoveva Duran
Genoveva is a 65-year-old business owner who runs a laundromat and is originally from Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. She was introduced to CrossFit after her daughter Maria invited her to try it, and it has since become an important part of her routine. Genoveva loves to roll out and is currently working on improving her weightlifting skills. CrossFit has had a positive impact on her life outside the gym, especially by helping her move better in everyday activities. One of her proudest accomplishments so far has been being able to do box jumps, a milestone that reflects her progress and determination. She especially values the gym community, appreciating the motivation she receives from both the trainer and her peers. What keeps her coming back is her commitment to her health, along with the encouragement from those around her who push her to keep improving. If she could design her own workout of the day, it would include weighted squats, sit-ups, and cardio exercises, followed by her favorite post-workout treat: a strawberry banana protein smoothie. A fun fact about Genoveva is that in her younger years, she played volleyball and basketball, and her passion for sports led her to work as a sports administrator for a university in the state of Michoacán, Mexico.
Athlete of the Month
Brian Linfert
At 37 years old, Brian works in Human Services and was drawn to CrossFit as a way of trying something new. Since starting, he has found a love for running as his favorite movement, while currently focusing on improving his butterfly pull-ups. CrossFit has encouraged him to become more involved in physical activities outside the gym, positively influencing his overall lifestyle. One of his proudest accomplishments so far has been stringing together kipping pull-ups, a milestone that he worked consistently hard towards. He values the strong sense of community and support within the gym and finds his motivation from within himself. If he could design his own workout of the day, it would include running and devil’s press, followed by his go-to post-workout meal from Chipotle. A fun fact about Brian is that although he appears very social, he is naturally an introvert.

APRIL FITNESS CHALLENGE
GHD Hip Extension Hold
Let’s see how long you can hold a hip extension on the GHD. Give it a try today and work on it several times per week after your workouts to see how much stronger and better you get by the end of the month!
What is a GHD?
A GHD (Glute Ham Developer) in CrossFit is a specialized, versatile equipment piece used to train the core, posterior chain, and hip flexors through a full range of motion. While designed for glute-ham raises, it is most famous in CrossFit for high-intensity GHD sit-ups, back extensions, and hip extensions that challenge abdominal stabilization and midline strength.
Key Usage Examples of GHD in CrossFit:
GHD Sit-ups: Athletes sit on the pad, lower their torso into hyperextension, and use their abs/hip flexors to sit up, often touching the floor.
Focuses purely on the hip flexors and glutes, with the body flexing at the hip over the pad.
Back Extensions: Targets the lower back, glutes, and hamstrings.
Hip-and-Back Extensions: A combination movement strengthening the entire posterior chain.
Glute-Ham Raises: Targets the hamstrings through knee flexion.
