WE ARE CROSSFIT FORT PIERCE

DID YOU KNOW THAT…

We have our very own InBody Body Composition Scale at the gym, free to use for all members. That’s right! It’s a really cool machine that quickly measure fat mass, muscle mass, and body water. It’s super user-friendly and non-invasive. You simply follow the step-by-step directions on it, and before you know it, you’re getting a detailed analysis print-out. Don’t want the paperwork? Then download the app and the results are automatically sent to and saved there, keeping a detailed history of your progress and achievements. It even has features to help you achieve your goals, like their macro calculations that can guide you on what and/or how much to eat depending on your fitness goal. Give it a try!! You can find it at the back of the gym next to the water cooler. Here’s a link to the company’s website where you can learn more about all of the features that are readily accessible to you, our CFFP member!

LIFE CLASS MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Pamela Moore

Congratulations to our Life Class Member Spotlight, Pamela Moore! At 73 years old and retired, Pamela brings a wonderful energy and commitment to CFFP. Originally from New Jersey, Pamela was encouraged to try CrossFit by her daughter Leah, who insisted that she give it a shot — and she quickly found a supportive community that keeps her coming back.

Pamela’s favorite movement is ring rows, and she’s currently working on improving her pushups. For her, CrossFit is about building the strength, balance, and confidence needed for everyday life, from yard work to home projects and repairs. One of her proudest CrossFit moments was completing the 2025 Murph workout alongside her daughter Leah, a special accomplishment made even better by sharing the experience together.

What Pamela loves most about CFFP is that every class — not just LIFE classes — is filled with encouragement and friendly faces. She knows that showing up will help her feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally, and that motivation keeps her moving forward. When it comes to creating her own WOD, Pamela is happy to leave that to the coaches and appreciates the thought and variety they put into each workout. After class, she enjoys a simple favorite meal of a hamburger and eggs.

A fun fact about Pamela: in 1998, she marched in London’s New Year’s Day Parade with her daughter Leah and the LPA Orchestra — just one example of the adventures and experiences that make her story so unique!

Athlete of the Month

Marjorie West

Congratulations to our Athlete of the Month, Marjorie West! At 36 years old and working as a Registered Nurse, Marjorie discovered CrossFit after starting with a nutrition coach (shout out to Kaycee!) in 2022. She was encouraged to try CrossFit because it aligned with her goals and background, and after surviving her first WOD (complete with “Fran lungs”), she was hooked and signed up right away. Since then, she has embraced the challenge and community that make CFFP such a special place.

Marjorie’s favorite movements include deadlifts, cleans, and dumbbell snatches — the workouts where she gets to lift heavy are some of her favorites. She’s currently working on improving her gymnastics skills and running, continuing to push herself outside her comfort zone. CrossFit has impacted her life far beyond the gym, teaching her that if she can tackle hard and heavy things inside the gym, she can handle the difficult moments outside the gym too — and she knows she doesn’t have to do it alone.

One of Marjorie’s proudest accomplishments is showing back up after a difficult season last year and continuing to stay coachable. She takes pride in coming to each class with a positive attitude, looking for ways to improve, and working on the things she isn’t good at yet. Even on days when she may take a few steps back or be the slowest person in the room, she’s proud to be there, putting in her best effort.

What Marjorie loves most about CFFP is the people, saying that “people make the place” and that she always leaves better than she arrived. Her biggest motivation for continuing to show up is simple — the community around her. If she could create her own WOD, it would be a fun chipper workout that finishes with a 1RM complex or lift. After class, you can probably find her enjoying her current favorite treat: caprese sourdough toast.

A fun fact about Marjorie? She once held a Zambian motorcycle license and has traveled to six continents — despite never having been to the Bahamas! She’s always up for an adventure and is already asking: who’s ready to join her for Antarctica… or maybe a Bahamas trip?

JULY FITNESS CHALLENGE

100 Weighted Side Bends

(50 per side)

Due to the popularity of last month’s challenge, we are sticking to the general idea and turning out attention to our obliques. You are challenged to perform 100 side bends total (50 per side) while holding a dumbbell or kettlebell. We will use the typical Rx DB weights (50/35) as a benchmark, but scaling (up or down) is encouraged when appropriate. Please chat with a coach if you need help figuring out proper scaling for yourself. Just like last month, you’ll add a tally mark to your name on the challenge board for each set of 100 that you complete. Let’s set a weekly goal early on and see if you can stick to it all month long. Let’s go!!

Weighted side bends: a targeted core exercise that isolates the obliques (side abdominals) to improve lateral stability and waistline definition. To perform them, stand tall with a weight in one hand, slowly bend sideways toward the weighted side, and contract your core to pull back to an upright position.
